PALA is a Los Angeles practice working at the scale of the house. We treat each home as a set of relationships — between rooms, between inside and outside, between the people who share it. Light, shadow, and porosity are our primary materials; craft and restraint are how we hold them together.

Our work is concentrated on small-lot and infill sites, hillsides, and wildfire rebuilds, where tight constraints sharpen the idea of a project rather than dilute it. Each house begins with a single diagram — a section, a line of sight, a shared room — and every later decision is tested against it.
